Oracle Database Administrator

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and manage Oracle database environments (single instance and RAC) across production and non-production systems
• Administer and optimize AWS RDS instances, including backups, monitoring, patching, and scaling
• Implement and manage Oracle Goldengate for real-time data replication and synchronization
• Lead database migration and modernization initiatives, specifically transitioning from on-prem to AWS RDS
• Develop and maintain Python scripts for database automation, monitoring, and operational tasks
• Perform database performance tuning, capacity planning, and troubleshooting
• Ensure database security, compliance, and best practices regarding encryption and access control
• Collaborate with application, cloud, and DevOps teams to support CI/CD and cloud-native architectures
• Provide operational support, incident resolution, and root cause analysis

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience as an Oracle Database Administrator (Daily operations)
• Proficiency in AWS cloud operations and managing AWS RDS services
• Proven expertise in Oracle Goldengate (setup, configuration, and troubleshooting)
• Strong Python scripting skills for automation and database operations
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent experience
• Solid understanding of database replication, backup & recovery, and disaster recovery strategies
• Experience working in Linux/Unix environments
• Proficiency in SQL and PL/SQL

Preferred Qualifications

• Oracle or AWS certifications
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform or CloudFormation)
• Familiarity with AWS services such as CloudWatch, IAM, S3, and VPC
• Experience with hybrid cloud architectures
• Exposure to MySQL or PostgreSQL within AWS RDS environments
• Knowledge of monitoring tools and automation frameworks
