OR Instrument Processor I

Responsibilities

• Decontaminate instruments and medical equipment following industry standards (UMHS/AAMI/AORN)
• Assemble, package, and prepare surgical instrument sets and reusable items
• Perform sterilization tasks and operate department equipment according to safe practices
• Follow policies for sterilization testing and monitoring, including accurate documentation of indicators and BI reports
• Maintain adequate supplies of instruments and disposable items to meet facility needs
• Transport instruments to the processing center and distribute processed items according to site practices
• Collaborate with the team on quality assurance and infection prevention protocols

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• Graduate of an Instrument Processor Program, including a completed externship
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team and take direction
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including the Monday-Friday 10pm-6:30am shift
• Ability to travel across ACS sites as needed
