About the role
Responsibilities
- Decontaminate instruments and medical equipment following industry standards (UMHS/AAMI/AORN)
- Assemble, package, and prepare surgical instrument sets and reusable items
- Perform sterilization tasks and operate department equipment according to safe practices
- Follow policies for sterilization testing and monitoring, including accurate documentation of indicators and BI reports
- Maintain adequate supplies of instruments and disposable items to meet facility needs
- Transport instruments to the processing center and distribute processed items according to site practices
- Collaborate with the team on quality assurance and infection prevention protocols
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- Graduate of an Instrument Processor Program, including a completed externship
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team and take direction
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including the Monday-Friday 10pm-6:30am shift
- Ability to travel across ACS sites as needed
