Optometrist

Responsibilities

• Perform pre-operative and post-operative NHS cataract and private refractive surgery assessments
• Participate in out-of-hours emergency on-call rotas including evenings and weekends
• Conduct YAG capsulotomy consultations and treatments
• Co-manage patients within Medical Retina and Glaucoma pathways
• Manage patient flow and appointments effectively in a high-volume clinical environment
• Document all findings accurately in electronic medical record systems
• Provide first-line clinical advice and manage appropriate referrals
• Achieve set conversion rates from consultation to treatment booking
• Maintain professional development in accordance with GOC requirements

Requirements

• Current GOC registration as a fully qualified optometrist
• Ideally at least 2 years of continuous registration
• Experience working to conversion targets and business KPIs
• Strong IT skills and time management capabilities
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous hospital or refractive experience
• IP qualification
