Optometric Technician

Responsibilities

• Assist with patient care and eye exams, including managing patient records and supporting patient flow.
• Perform diagnostic tests such as visual acuity measurements, depth and color perception tests, and retinal imaging.
• Support contact lens exams and orders, including managing trial inventory and patient orders.
• Operate point-of-sale systems and input patient information with high accuracy.
• Maintain, disinfect, and organize clinical equipment and exam lanes.
• Handle patient records in accordance with practice standards and HIPAA regulations.
• Identify and resolve patient concerns to ensure an unsurpassed clinical experience.

Requirements

• High School graduate or equivalent.
• 2+ years of experience in optometry, ophthalmology, or a healthcare setting.
• Strong knowledge of optical and medical terminology.
• Proficiency with optical diagnostic equipment and pre-examination testing.
• Excellent communication, listening, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks.
• Strong basic math and organizational skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience in customer service, retail, or optical environments.
• Optometric technician certification.
• General experience in a healthcare office environment.
