Optometric Technician

Responsibilities

• Assist with patient care and eye exams, including managing patient records and supporting patient flow
• Perform diagnostic tests such as visual acuity measurements, depth and color perception tests, and retinal imaging
• Support contact lens exams and orders, including care, trial inventory, and patient orders
• Operate point-of-sale systems, inputting patient information and processing sales transactions accurately
• Maintain, disinfect, and organize clinical equipment and exam lanes
• Handle and file patient records in accordance with practice standards and HIPAA regulations
• Identify and resolve patient concerns to ensure a high-quality experience

Requirements

• High School graduate or equivalent
• 2+ years of experience in optometry, ophthalmology, or a healthcare setting
• Knowledge of optical and medical terminology
• Proficiency with optical diagnostic equipment and pre-examination testing
• Strong communication, listening, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks
• Basic math skills and strong organizational abilities

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience in customer service, retail, or optical environments
• Optometric technician certification
