Optometric Technician - Medical Assistant

Responsibilities

• Conduct patient pre-screenings and vision tests prior to doctor examinations
• Maintain a professional atmosphere in the doctor's office and pre-test room
• Explain preliminary examination types to patients
• Complete necessary paperwork and perform required clinical testing
• Promote visual field testing and retinal screenings to eligible patients
• Review prescriptions and patient information to identify special needs
• Ensure all doctor and pre-test equipment is properly maintained

Requirements

• Strong customer service and interpersonal skills
• Ability to learn optical knowledge, terminology, and ocular diseases
• Clear and concise communication skills
• Excellent organizational, multitasking, and time-management skills
• Detail-oriented approach with a professional attitude and appearance
• Availability to work daytime shifts with a flexible schedule

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous retail or optical experience is preferred but not required
