Optometric Technician

Responsibilities

• Assist optometrists with eye examinations, including obtaining medical history and performing pre-examination testing
• Greet patients promptly and manage telephone inquiries in a professional and friendly manner
• Maintain and organize patient records in accordance with HIPAA regulations
• Manage appointment scheduling and utilize clinical systems to input patient data and insurance information
• Perform maintenance and disinfection of clinical equipment and monitor inventory of exam room supplies
• Support patient retention through follow-up calls and manage contact lens trial orders
• Ensure a clean, safe, and organized clinical environment, including the contact lens area

Requirements

• High School graduate or equivalent
• Minimum of one year of strong customer service experience
• Strong communication and active listening skills
• Basic math skills and ability to handle data accurately
• Strong problem-solving and organizational abilities
• Ability to work autonomously and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience in a retail or optical setting
• Prior experience working in a healthcare environment
