Optometric Technician

Responsibilities

• Assist optometrists by performing initial patient testing and providing high-quality medical support
• Operate optical equipment including manual/auto-lensometers, autorefractor/keratometer, retinal cameras, and OCT
• Execute the Total Patient Experience to build strong relationships with patients
• Comply with all company policies and HIPAA regulations
• Maintain and clean examination equipment, including tonometer tips
• Perform general office duties and maintain a clean clinical environment
• Manage patient flow with urgency to respect the schedules of both patients and doctors

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in a customer service or patient-facing role
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
• Ability to pass a background check as required by the state
• Ability to perform physical tasks including walking, standing, and lifting up to 25 lbs

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous medical office experience
• Previous ophthalmic or optometric experience
