About the role
Responsibilities
- Assist optometrists by performing initial patient testing and providing high-quality medical support
- Operate optical equipment including manual/auto-lensometers, autorefractor/keratometer, retinal cameras, and OCT
- Follow specific scripting for testing equipment such as photos and visual fields
- Clean and maintain examination equipment, including tonometer tips
- Comply with all company policies and procedures, including HIPAA regulations
- Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor with patients and staff
- Perform general office duties and cleaning as assigned by the manager
- Manage time effectively to respect the schedules of both patients and doctors
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a customer service or patient-facing role
- Ability to provide proof of identity and right to work in the United States
- Ability to pass a background check as required by the state
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Physical ability to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a medical office setting
- Previous experience in ophthalmic clinical support
