Optometric Technician

Responsibilities

• Assist optometrists by performing initial patient testing using various optical equipment
• Operate manual and auto-lensometers, autorefractor/keratometer, retinal camera, visual field, GDX, or OCT
• Follow specific scripting for testing equipment including photos and visual fields
• Maintain a high-quality patient experience by building relationships and providing medical support
• Comply with all company policies and procedures, including HIPAA regulations
• Clean and maintain examination equipment, including tonometer tips
• Perform general office duties and maintain a clean clinical environment
• Manage time effectively to respect the schedules of both patients and doctors

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in a customer service or patient-facing role
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
• Ability to pass a background check as required by the state
• Ability to provide proof of identity and right to work in the United States

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous medical office experience
• Previous ophthalmic experience
