Optometric Technician

Responsibilities

• Assist optometrists by performing initial patient testing using various optical equipment
• Operate specialized tools including manual/auto-lensometers, autorefractor/keratometer, retinal cameras, visual field, GDX, or OCT
• Execute the "Total Patient Experience" to build strong relationships with patients
• Follow specific scripting for testing equipment such as photos and visual fields
• Maintain a clean and professional environment by cleaning examination equipment and performing general office duties
• Comply with all company policies and HIPAA regulations
• Manage time effectively to respect both patient and doctor schedules

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in a customer or patient-facing role
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
• Ability to pass a background check and provide proof of right to work in the United States
• Ability to perform physical tasks including frequent walking, standing, and lifting up to 25 lbs

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience in a medical office setting
• Prior ophthalmic experience
