About the role
Responsibilities
- Assist optometrists by performing initial patient testing using specialized optical equipment
- Operate equipment including manual/auto-lensometers, autorefractor/keratometer, retinal cameras, visual field, GDX, or OCT
- Execute the "Total Patient Experience" to build strong relationships with patients
- Maintain clinical standards by cleaning examination equipment and following HIPAA compliance
- Manage general office duties and maintain a clean, professional clinical environment
- Coordinate with the medical team to ensure efficient patient flow and scheduling
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a customer-facing or patient-interaction role
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Ability to pass a background check and provide proof of right to work in the US
- Ability to perform physical tasks including standing, walking, and fine motor activities required for clinical testing
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a medical office setting
- Prior experience specifically within an ophthalmic or optometric practice
