Optometric Technician

Responsibilities

• Conduct patient pre-screenings and vision testing prior to doctor examinations
• Maintain a professional atmosphere in the doctor's office and pre-test room
• Explain preliminary examination types to patients
• Complete necessary paperwork and perform required clinical testing
• Promote visual field testing and retinal screenings to eligible patients
• Review prescriptions and patient information to identify special needs
• Ensure all medical and pre-test equipment is properly maintained

Requirements

• Strong customer service and interpersonal skills
• Ability to learn optical knowledge and ocular terminology
• Clear and concise communication skills
• Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities
• Detail-oriented approach to patient care and paperwork
• Professional attitude and appearance
• Previous retail or optical experience is preferred but not required
