About the role

Responsibilities

  • Lead optimization activities across the Downstream value chain using advanced models and economic analysis.
  • Own data quality and integrity for Group-level asset and market optimization.
  • Prepare optimized bases for Business and Tactical Plans and steer Group-level scenario analyses.
  • Identify supply chain bottlenecks, synergies, and key economic drivers to drive value creation.
  • Provide margin management insights and economic input for executive-level decision-making.
  • Support monthly scheduling and tactical execution with real-time optimization insights.
  • Drive continuous improvement of optimization models, processes, and tools, including PIMS development.
  • Act as a Group-level subject matter expert in optimization, linear programming, and refinery economics.

Requirements

  • BSc/MSc in Economics, Chemical Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.
  • 3–5 years of professional experience in scheduling, optimization, planning, or economic analysis.
  • Strong understanding of refinery, petrochemical, commercial, and logistics processes.
  • Advanced knowledge of optimization tools and their practical application.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft technologies, specifically Excel and Power BI.
  • Advanced fluency in written and verbal English.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with optimization software tools such as PIMS.
  • Strong understanding of asset and refinery economics.
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office tools including DAX and VBA.
  • Ability to translate complex optimization outcomes into clear business recommendations.
  • Proven experience in value chain optimization and scheduling.
