About the role
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to transition optics product designs through validation and into scalable production processes.
- Contribute to product development through Design For Manufacturing (DFM) and Design For Test (DFT).
- Partner with Process Engineering to develop and implement control plans and manufacturing tests.
- Own design integrity for products after the transition from Beta to production, including engineering change management.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical challenges related to optoelectronic performance.
- Track engineering orders through the product development lifecycle to ensure on-schedule and within-cost delivery.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Materials Engineering, Physics, or a related field.
- 5+ years of engineering experience with a focus on taking designs to manufacturing.
- Expertise in product lifecycle management (PLM) and requirements definition.
- Deep technical knowledge of optoelectronic design, including optical components and semiconductor devices.
- Proficiency in PCB manufacturing and assembly processes (plating, solder mask, SMT, wirebonding, etc.).
- Experience with data interpretation using microscopy (Optical, Acoustic, Electron), thermal cycling, and reliability methods.
- Hands-on problem-solving experience using FMEA, SPC, DOE, and phase gate processes.
- Experience working in cleanroom environments with ESD sensitive components.
- Working knowledge of mechanical design, drawing interpretation, and GD&T.
