Optics Product Manufacturing Engineer

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to transition optics product designs through validation and into scalable production processes.
• Contribute to product development through Design For Manufacturing (DFM) and Design For Test (DFT).
• Partner with Process Engineering to develop and implement control plans and manufacturing tests.
• Own design integrity for products after the transition from Beta to production, including engineering change management.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical challenges related to optoelectronic performance.
• Track engineering orders through the product development lifecycle to ensure on-schedule and within-cost delivery.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Materials Engineering, Physics, or a related field.
• 5+ years of engineering experience with a focus on taking designs to manufacturing.
• Expertise in product lifecycle management (PLM) and requirements definition.
• Deep technical knowledge of optoelectronic design, including optical components and semiconductor devices.
• Proficiency in PCB manufacturing and assembly processes (plating, solder mask, SMT, wirebonding, etc.).
• Experience with data interpretation using microscopy (Optical, Acoustic, Electron), thermal cycling, and reliability methods.
• Hands-on problem-solving experience using FMEA, SPC, DOE, and phase gate processes.
• Experience working in cleanroom environments with ESD sensitive components.
• Working knowledge of mechanical design, drawing interpretation, and GD&T.
