Optician

Responsibilities

• Execute the Total Patient Experience to build relationships and deliver medical support
• Assist patients in selecting frames based on style, color, and facial measurements
• Operate auto-lensometers and manual lensometers
• Educate patients on specific lenses, coatings, and frames
• Accurately collect optical measurements including pupillary distance and seg heights
• Dispense patient orders and perform frame repairs and adjustments
• Maintain frame inventory standards and organization
• Perform general office duties and cleaning as assigned

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• Minimum of 1 year in a customer or patient-facing role
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills
• Ability to read and interpret insurance forms and procedure manuals
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook
• Ability to comply with HIPAA regulations
• Ability to pass a background check

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous medical office or ophthalmic experience
• Current ABO/ABOC and NCLE certifications
