Optical Fiber Strategic Buyer/Technologist

Responsibilities

• Manage sourcing, procurement, and supplier relationships for fiber optic cables
• Manage technical specifications and conduct supplier risk assessments
• Optimize cost models and ensure supply continuity
• Identify, qualify, and manage key supplier relationships using KPIs for quality, delivery, and cost
• Develop procurement strategies for optical components
• Negotiate pricing, terms, and conditions
• Collaborate with engineering and operations teams
• Perform fiber characterization and measure key parameters

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in strategic sourcing, ideally in telecommunications, optical transport, or infrastructure
• Technical understanding of optical fiber design, passive fiber connectivity, silicon photonics, and manufacturing processes
• Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant technical field
• Excellent teamwork and interpersonal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Direct lab experience in fiber characterization
• Experience with performance simulations
