About the role
Responsibilities
- Perform early optical feasibility studies and package development to support customer vehicle programs.
- Create and optimize optical designs for automotive headlamps and signal lighting to achieve superior illumination and cutoff.
- Develop innovative optical concepts that balance manufacturability, modularity, style, and cost-effectiveness.
- Optimize designs through iterative analysis using CAE lighting tools (Lighttools) and empirical data.
- Conduct component testing to evaluate photometric performance and provide risk analysis for design changes.
- Support prototype construction, testing, certification, and homologation processes.
- Collaborate with global optical engineering resources to ensure successful project delivery.
- Maintain laboratory workspace, organize equipment, and develop efficient new testing methods.
Requirements
- Minimum of 6 years of professional experience in optical engineering.
- Engineering degree or a related technical field.
- Proficiency in English (at least 80%).
- Expertise in using Lighttools for optical design and simulation.
- Strong background in optical design optimization and photometric analysis.
