Optical Design and Analysis Engineer

Responsibilities

• Develop subsystem architecture and designs for optical systems, assemblies, and components
• Define performance and tolerance requirements for optical assemblies and components
• Perform trade studies, modeling, and simulation to optimize design and predict system performance
• Define and conduct tests to validate design performance against requirements
• Analyze data to validate the designs of complex optical systems and components

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, or Chemistry
• 5+ years of experience in design and/or modeling electro-optical systems using Zemax OpticStudio, Code V, or similar
• 5+ years of experience using scientific programming languages such as Python or MATLAB for data analysis and modeling
• Active U.S. Top Secret Security Clearance

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in optical engineering, electrical engineering, or physics
• 9+ years of related work experience for Lead level positions
• Experience working with adaptive optics systems
• Experience with data processing and image analysis techniques
• Experience designing and integrating complex optical systems
