About the role
Responsibilities
- Act as the design authority for optoelectronic products in manufacture, providing technical support for failure analysis and development.
- Collaborate with R&D and Operations teams to define production requirements and specifications for processes and tests.
- Drive continuous improvements in design for manufacturability (DFM) and maintain assembly tools.
- Review and update PFMEA to ensure product reliability and quality.
- Lead training programs for contract manufacturer operators and engineers to ensure operational excellence.
- Manage the product lifecycle from launch to mass production, including yield tracking and BOM management for cost reduction.
- Work with Test Engineering to create automated analysis tools and KPIs for performance monitoring.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline.
- 5+ years of experience in designing, manufacturing, or testing optoelectronic products.
- Solid understanding of optical device principles (lasers, modulators, detectors, optical sub-assemblies, and transceivers).
- Expertise in production processes for optoelectronic device manufacturing.
- Proven track record in product lifecycle management and launching complex modules.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work with multi-functional, global teams.
- Willingness to travel up to 20% to support product transfer and manufacturing in North America and Asia.
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced degree or certifications in photonics or optoelectronics.
- Experience in developing automated testing frameworks for optoelectronic products.
- Expertise in statistical process control (SPC) and quality assurance methodologies.
- Knowledge of advanced packaging materials and sustainability practices.
- Proficiency in programming languages for data analysis and automation.
