Responsibilities

• Partner with low-income families using family-centered coaching to identify strengths, assess challenges, and set meaningful goals.
• Support access to essential resources including economic security, stable housing, education, employment, childcare, healthcare, and transportation.
• Deliver "Your Money in Action" financial literacy training and provide one-on-one financial counseling.
• Monitor family progress through ongoing engagement and provide necessary course corrections.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of CAPHR programs and community partner resources to ensure seamless service delivery.
• Support homelessness prevention programs (ESG and HSS) and the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program as needed.
• Maintain detailed client records in database systems while ensuring strict confidentiality and professional boundaries.
• Represent CAPHR at community events and make presentations to partner agencies and community members.

Requirements

• Experience working directly with low-income families.
• Strong knowledge of local, state, and federal human service systems and mainstream benefits.
• Knowledge of the barriers facing low-income populations and relevant interventions, including Trauma Informed Care.
• Strong community relations skills, including interpersonal, written, and oral communication.
• Natural empathy and a commitment to supporting individuals facing significant life challenges.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in human services or a related field.
• Training or certification in financial coaching.
• Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish.
