About the role
Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional customer service during patient encounters
- Anticipate Physician needs to facilitate clinic flow
- Verify patient information and record medical history in EMR
- Perform diagnostic tests including visual fields, OCT, GDX, IOL master, and topography
- Check eye conditions by observing pupils, muscles, and visual acuity
- Prepare patients for treatments and minor procedures
- Maintain clean and stocked examination and treatment rooms
- Accurately document medical visits and procedures performed by the Physician
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- One year of related experience or training
- Working knowledge of medical terminology and abbreviations
- Proficiency with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) and Microsoft Office
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to comply with HIPAA confidentiality standards
Preferred Qualifications
- Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) certification
- Certified Ophthalmic Technician (COT) certification
