About the role

Responsibilities

  • Provide exceptional customer service during patient encounters
  • Assist doctors with preliminary testing including dilation, refraction, and pressures
  • Perform diagnostic tests such as visual fields, OCT, GDX, IOL master, and topography
  • Record medical history and current medications in Electronic Medical Records (EMR)
  • Verify medical and vision insurance information
  • Maintain eye anatomy and ocular medication knowledge
  • Facilitate patient flow and manage office duties

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • One year of related experience or training
  • Basic computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Reliable transportation for travel to multiple locations within a 45-minute radius
  • Ability to perform physical activities including walking, standing, and lifting up to 25 lbs

Preferred Qualifications

  • Current Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) certification
  • Current Certified Ophthalmic Technician (COT) certification
