About the role
Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional customer service during patient encounters
- Assist doctors with preliminary testing including dilation, refraction, and pressures
- Perform diagnostic tests such as visual fields, OCT, GDX, IOL master, and topography
- Record medical history and current medications in Electronic Medical Records (EMR)
- Verify medical and vision insurance information
- Maintain eye anatomy and ocular medication knowledge
- Facilitate patient flow and manage office duties
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- One year of related experience or training
- Basic computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Reliable transportation for travel to multiple locations within a 45-minute radius
- Ability to perform physical activities including walking, standing, and lifting up to 25 lbs
Preferred Qualifications
- Current Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) certification
- Current Certified Ophthalmic Technician (COT) certification
