Ophthalmic Technician

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional customer service and professional patient care
• Perform initial testing including dilation, refraction, pressures, and diagnostic tests (visual fields, OCT, GDX, IOL master, auto refractor, and topography)
• Record patient medical history, medications, and visit purpose in EMR
• Check patient eye conditions by observing pupils, muscles, visual acuity, and extraocular movements
• Prepare patients for treatments and minor procedures
• Document medical visits and procedures accurately as performed by the Physician
• Maintain clean and stocked examination, treatment, and laser rooms
• Manage general office duties and supply inventory

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• One year of related experience and/or training
• Reliable transportation for travel between Willoughby Hills, Mayfield Heights, Parma, and Independence
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
• Experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems
• Ability to work over 40 hours and weekends when applicable

Preferred Qualifications

• Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) certification
• Certified Ophthalmic Technician (COT) certification
• Previous eyecare experience
