About the role
Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional customer service and professional patient care
- Perform initial testing including dilation, refraction, pressures, and diagnostic tests (visual fields, OCT, GDX, IOL master, auto refractor, and topography)
- Record patient medical history, medications, and visit purpose in EMR
- Check patient eye conditions by observing pupils, muscles, visual acuity, and extraocular movements
- Prepare patients for treatments and minor procedures
- Document medical visits and procedures accurately as performed by the Physician
- Maintain clean and stocked examination, treatment, and laser rooms
- Manage general office duties and supply inventory
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- One year of related experience and/or training
- Reliable transportation for travel between Willoughby Hills, Mayfield Heights, Parma, and Independence
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems
- Ability to work over 40 hours and weekends when applicable
Preferred Qualifications
- Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) certification
- Certified Ophthalmic Technician (COT) certification
- Previous eyecare experience
