About the role
Responsibilities
- Facilitate patient flow and assist doctors with preliminary testing
- Perform diagnostic tests including visual fields, OCT, GDX, IOL master, auto refractor, and topography
- Conduct dilation, refraction, and pressure checks
- Record patient medical history, medications, and vital signs in Electronic Medical Records (EMR)
- Prepare patients for treatments and minor procedures
- Maintain clean and stocked examination, treatment, and laser rooms
- Communicate effectively with patients, doctors, and managers via phone, email, and in-person
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- One year of related experience and/or training
- Basic computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Experience using Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems
- Reliable transportation for travel between Manalapan, Little Silver, and Toms River offices
- Ability to work full-time hours, including potential weekends and extended shifts
Preferred Qualifications
- Current Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) certification
- Current Certified Ophthalmic Technician (COT) certification
