Ophthalmic Technician

Responsibilities

• Facilitate patient flow and assist doctors with preliminary testing
• Perform diagnostic tests including visual fields, OCT, GDX, IOL master, auto refractor, and topography
• Conduct dilation, refraction, and pressure checks
• Record patient medical history, medications, and vital signs in Electronic Medical Records (EMR)
• Prepare patients for treatments and minor procedures
• Maintain clean and stocked examination, treatment, and laser rooms
• Communicate effectively with patients, doctors, and managers via phone, email, and in-person

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent
• One year of related experience and/or training
• Basic computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office
• Experience using Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems
• Reliable transportation for travel between Manalapan, Little Silver, and Toms River offices
• Ability to work full-time hours, including potential weekends and extended shifts

Preferred Qualifications

• Current Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) certification
• Current Certified Ophthalmic Technician (COT) certification
