About the role
Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional customer service during patient encounters
- Perform initial testing including dilation, refraction, and pressures
- Conduct diagnostic tests such as visual fields, OCT, GDX, and topography
- Record patient medical history and medications in Electronic Medical Records (EMR)
- Prepare patients for treatments and minor procedures
- Measure and record vital signs including blood pressure and pulse
- Maintain clean and stocked examination and treatment rooms
- Document medical visits and procedures accurately for the Physician
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- One year of related experience or training
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems
- Ability to travel between office locations in Grandville and Grand Rapids
- Availability to work flexible shifts including some Saturdays
- Strong fine motor skills and visual/auditory acuity
Preferred Qualifications
- Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) certification
- Certified Ophthalmic Technician (COT) certification
