About the role
Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional customer service during patient encounters
- Perform initial testing including dilation, refraction, and pressures
- Conduct diagnostic tests such as visual fields, OCT, GDX, and topography
- Record patient medical history and medications in Electronic Medical Records (EMR)
- Prepare patients for treatments and minor procedures
- Measure and record vital signs
- Maintain clean and stocked examination and treatment rooms
- Document medical visits and procedures accurately
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- One year of related experience or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Ability to use Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work weekends and more than 40 hours if needed
- Reliable transportation for potential travel between locations
Preferred Qualifications
- Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) certification
- Certified Ophthalmic Technician (COT) certification
