Ophthalmic Technician

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional customer service during patient encounters
• Perform initial testing including dilation, refraction, and pressures
• Conduct diagnostic tests such as visual fields, OCT, GDX, and topography
• Record patient medical history and medications in Electronic Medical Records (EMR)
• Prepare patients for treatments and minor procedures
• Measure and record vital signs
• Maintain clean and stocked examination and treatment rooms
• Document medical visits and procedures accurately

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• One year of related experience or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
• Ability to use Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Ability to work weekends and more than 40 hours if needed
• Reliable transportation for potential travel between locations

Preferred Qualifications

• Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) certification
• Certified Ophthalmic Technician (COT) certification
