About the role

Responsibilities

  • Provide exceptional customer service during patient encounters
  • Perform initial testing including dilation, refraction, pressures, and diagnostic tests like OCT and visual fields
  • Record patient medical history, medications, and data in Electronic Medical Records (EMR)
  • Prepare patients for treatments and minor procedures
  • Measure and record vital signs
  • Maintain clean and stocked examination and treatment rooms
  • Assist Ophthalmologists to facilitate clinic flow

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • Required experience working in the medical field
  • Basic computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Reliable transportation for travel between local offices
  • Ability to perform physical tasks including standing, walking, and lifting up to 25 lbs

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ophthalmology-specific experience
  • Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) certification
  • Certified Ophthalmic Technician (COT) certification
  • Experience with EMR systems
