About the role
Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional customer service during patient encounters
- Perform initial testing including dilation, refraction, pressures, and diagnostic tests like OCT and visual fields
- Record patient medical history, medications, and data in Electronic Medical Records (EMR)
- Prepare patients for treatments and minor procedures
- Measure and record vital signs
- Maintain clean and stocked examination and treatment rooms
- Assist Ophthalmologists to facilitate clinic flow
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- Required experience working in the medical field
- Basic computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Reliable transportation for travel between local offices
- Ability to perform physical tasks including standing, walking, and lifting up to 25 lbs
Preferred Qualifications
- Ophthalmology-specific experience
- Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) certification
- Certified Ophthalmic Technician (COT) certification
- Experience with EMR systems
