About the role

Responsibilities

  • Provide exceptional customer service during patient encounters
  • Perform initial testing including dilation, refraction, pressures, and diagnostic tests like OCT, GDX, and visual fields
  • Record patient medical history, medications, and visit purpose in EMR
  • Check patient eye conditions by observing pupils, muscles, and visual acuity
  • Prepare patients for treatments and minor procedures
  • Maintain clean and stocked examination and treatment rooms
  • Document medical visits and procedures accurately as performed by the Physician

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • One year of related experience or training
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and EMR systems
  • Ability to work over 40 hours and weekends when applicable
  • Reliable transportation for potential travel between locations
  • Strong fine motor skills and visual/auditory acuity

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) certification
  • Certified Ophthalmic Technician (COT) certification
