Ophthalmic Technician

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional customer service during patient encounters
• Perform initial testing to prepare patients for ophthalmologist exams
• Record patient medical history, medications, and visit purpose in EMR
• Check eye conditions including pupils, muscles, visual acuity, and extraocular movements
• Perform diagnostic tests such as visual fields, OCT, GDX, IOL master, and topography
• Prepare patients for treatments and minor procedures
• Maintain and stock examination and treatment rooms
• Document medical visits and procedures accurately

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• One year of related experience or training
• Reliable transportation for travel between Dayton, Troy, and Beavercreek offices
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and EMR systems
• Ability to work over 40 hours and weekends when applicable
• Strong fine motor skills and visual/auditory acuity

Preferred Qualifications

• Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) certification
• Certified Ophthalmic Technician (COT) certification
