About the role
Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional customer service during patient encounters
- Perform initial testing to prepare patients for ophthalmologist exams
- Record patient medical history, medications, and visit purpose in EMR
- Check eye conditions including pupils, muscles, visual acuity, and extraocular movements
- Perform diagnostic tests such as visual fields, OCT, GDX, IOL master, and topography
- Prepare patients for treatments and minor procedures
- Maintain and stock examination and treatment rooms
- Document medical visits and procedures accurately
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- One year of related experience or training
- Reliable transportation for travel between Dayton, Troy, and Beavercreek offices
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and EMR systems
- Ability to work over 40 hours and weekends when applicable
- Strong fine motor skills and visual/auditory acuity
Preferred Qualifications
- Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) certification
- Certified Ophthalmic Technician (COT) certification
