Ophthalmic Technician

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional customer service and professional patient care during encounters
• Perform initial testing including dilation, refraction, pressures, and diagnostic tests like OCT, GDX, and visual fields
• Record patient medical history, medications, and vital signs in Electronic Medical Records (EMR)
• Assist physicians with treatments and minor procedures
• Maintain clean and stocked examination and treatment rooms
• Manage patient flow and anticipate physician needs to ensure clinic efficiency

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent
• One year of related experience or training
• Basic computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office
• Strong customer service and communication skills
• Ability to travel to multiple office locations in the Wyandotte, Brownstown, Wayne, and Dearborn areas
• Reliable transportation

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous ophthalmology experience
• Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) or Certified Ophthalmic Technician (COT) certification
• Experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems
