Ophthalmic Technician

Responsibilities

• Facilitate patient flow and assist doctors with preliminary testing
• Perform diagnostic tests including visual fields, OCT, GDX, IOL master, and topography
• Verify medical and vision insurance and patient information
• Record medical history, medications, and visit purposes in Electronic Medical Records (EMR)
• Check patient eye conditions by observing pupils, muscles, and visual acuity
• Provide exceptional customer service to patients in person and via phone
• Comply with all company policies and HIPAA regulations

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent
• Basic computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office
• Strong customer service and communication skills
• Ability to travel to multiple office locations as needed
• Reliable transportation
• Ability to perform physical activities including walking, standing, and lifting up to 25 lbs

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous medical or eyecare experience
• Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) certification
• Certified Ophthalmic Technician (COT) certification
