Ophthalmic Technician

Responsibilities

• Triage patients and record accurate medical history documentation
• Obtain chief complaints and perform screenings including visual acuity, IOP, and pupillary checks
• Perform macular OCT and other retinal imaging
• Prepare exam rooms and patient charts for physicians
• Assist with in-office procedures and clinical trial recruitment
• Communicate patient care updates to team members and physicians

Requirements

• Valid U.S. driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record
• Ability to travel between South Austin and San Marcos locations
• Proficiency with computer systems including Google, Microsoft Office, and Teams
• Ability to master ophthalmology and retina terminology
• Willingness to work irregular hours including early mornings or overtime

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in optometry, ophthalmology, or retina clinics
• COA, COT, or COMT certification
• Bilingual in Spanish
