About the role

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate patient flow and assist doctors with preliminary testing
  • Perform diagnostic tests including visual fields, OCT, GDX, IOL master, and topography
  • Record patient medical history, medications, and vital signs in EMR
  • Verify medical and vision insurance information
  • Prepare patients for treatments and minor procedures
  • Maintain clean and stocked examination and treatment rooms
  • Communicate effectively with patients, doctors, and management

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • One year of related experience or training
  • Basic computer proficiency and Microsoft Office skills
  • Experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to perform physical tasks including walking, standing, and lifting up to 25 lbs

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) certification
  • Certified Ophthalmic Technician (COT) certification
