About the role
Responsibilities
- Facilitate patient flow and assist doctors with preliminary testing
- Perform diagnostic tests including visual fields, OCT, GDX, IOL master, and topography
- Record patient medical history, medications, and vital signs in EMR
- Verify medical and vision insurance information
- Prepare patients for treatments and minor procedures
- Maintain clean and stocked examination and treatment rooms
- Communicate effectively with patients, doctors, and management
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- One year of related experience or training
- Basic computer proficiency and Microsoft Office skills
- Experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Ability to perform physical tasks including walking, standing, and lifting up to 25 lbs
Preferred Qualifications
- Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) certification
- Certified Ophthalmic Technician (COT) certification
