Ophthalmic Assistant

Responsibilities

• Provide care to patients and families visiting the eye clinic
• Perform Humphrey Visual Field Testing, Pachymetry, Lensometry, and Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT)
• Conduct work-ups including health history, V/A and IOP checks, pupil assessment, and color tests
• Perform A Scan, B Scan, Fundus Photos, IVFA, Specular Microscope, and Goldmann Visual Field
• Order and stock supplies including pharmacy supplies
• Maintain, clean, and calibrate equipment
• Set up rooms for procedures such as intravitreal injections, laser treatments, and Chalazion removal

Requirements

• J.C.A.H.P.O. Certified Ophthalmic Technician (COT)
• Experience with OCT
• Experience with EMR
• Knowledge of Humphrey Visual Field Testing and software
• Knowledge of manual Lensometer use
• Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
• Ability to function independently and within an interdisciplinary team
