Operator Technician III

Responsibilities

• Monitor and control equipment start/stop sequences, reading gauges and meters to ensure operation within parameters
• Perform complex plant maintenance, including diagnosis, repair, and overhaul of mechanical and electrical equipment
• Conduct chemical analysis and control for steam, cooling, and condensate systems, maintaining accurate chemistry logs
• Resolve complex technical issues and make decisions on non-routine or escalated technical matters
• Provide on-the-job skills training to other team members in complex technical areas
• Ensure strict compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations and plant safety procedures
• Operate heavy equipment such as manlifts and forklifts and handle the transfer of bulk chemicals

Requirements

• High School Diploma, technical/vocational school degree, military service, or equivalent
• 10+ years of directly related experience in power generation or a similar industrial environment
• Proven experience working with hazardous energy, chemicals, and waste materials, including safe handling and storage
• Experience using test equipment and calibration appliances
• Strong mechanical aptitude and a basic understanding of chemistry, physics, electricity, and mathematics
• Experience with machinery repair and control systems
• Valid state driver’s license
