Operator Technician III

Responsibilities

• Monitor and control equipment start/stop sequences, reading gauges and meters to ensure operation within parameters
• Perform complex plant maintenance, including diagnosis, repair, and overhaul of mechanical and electrical equipment
• Conduct chemical analysis and control for steam, cooling, and condensate systems, maintaining detailed chemistry logs
• Resolve escalated technical issues and make decisions on non-routine operational challenges
• Provide on-the-job technical training and guidance to other team members
• Assist in developing standard operating procedures and identifying plant improvements for efficiency and safety
• Ensure strict compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations and plant safety procedures
• Operate heavy equipment such as manlifts and forklifts and handle bulk chemical transfers

Requirements

• High School Diploma, technical/vocational degree, or equivalent military service
• 10+ years of directly related experience in power plant or industrial operations
• Proven experience working with hazardous energy, chemicals, and waste materials
• Proficiency using test equipment and calibration appliances
• Strong experience with machinery repair and control systems
• High mechanical aptitude with a basic understanding of chemistry, physics, electricity, and mathematics
• Valid state driver’s license
