Operator

Responsibilities

• Monitor sterilization systems by observing pressure, temperature, and relative humidity measurements on charts or computer monitors
• Adjust controls and turn valves to ensure safe equipment operation
• Detect malfunctions in sterilizers and auxiliary units and assist with necessary repairs
• Document and record all process readings accurately
• Perform daily and weekly preventative maintenance tasks on equipment
• Store and remove processing chemicals in accordance with established laws and procedures
• Report damaged products or system problems to the appropriate supervisor or technician
• Oversee the work of Process Assistant Operators

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds and perform repetitive bending and lifting
• Forklift driving experience
• Proficiency in English (reading, writing, and speaking)
• Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
• Ability to work established shifts
• Must be medically approved for respirator use
• Ability to tolerate high temperatures and humidity (up to 120F and 60% RH)

Preferred Qualifications

• 6 to 12 months of experience in a sterilization environment
• Experience with EO sterilization processes
• Basic computer skills
