About the role
Responsibilities
- Monitor sterilization systems by observing pressure, temperature, and relative humidity measurements on charts or computer monitors
- Adjust controls and turn valves to ensure safe equipment operation
- Detect malfunctions in sterilizers and auxiliary units and assist with necessary repairs
- Document and record all process readings accurately
- Report damaged products or system problems to the appropriate supervisor or maintenance technician
- Perform daily and weekly preventative maintenance tasks on equipment
- Store and remove processing chemicals in accordance with established laws and procedures
- Participate in plant safety committees and adhere to all safety regulations
- Oversee the work of Process Assistant Operators
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- Ability to read, write, and speak fluent English
- Basic math skills, including the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals
- Forklift driving experience
- Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds and perform repetitive bending and lifting motions
- Must be medically approved for respirator use
- Ability to tolerate exposure to high temperatures and high humidity
Preferred Qualifications
- 6 to 12 months of experience working in a sterilization environment
- Experience with a company using EO sterilization of products
- Basic computer skills
