Operator Shift Control Room

Responsibilities

• Monitor CCTV cameras and initiate appropriate responses to suspicious activities
• Monitor computerized burglar and fire alarm systems and respond to activations
• Monitor guard patrol systems and alert shift supervisors of any deviations
• Update computer-based incident logging systems and generate necessary reports
• Operate the 24/7 emergency number and initiate appropriate emergency responses
• Operate remote-controlled gate control and radio communication systems
• Perform administrative duties related to the control room environment
• Capture all incidents and dockets online for record purposes

Requirements

• Grade 12 or N3 qualification
• Completion of a formal Control Room Operators course
• PSIRA Security Officer Grade B registration
• 2-3 years of relevant experience in a control room setup, preferably in mining
• Practical experience with CCTV, burglar alarms, and incident logging systems
• Valid South African Driver's Licence

Preferred Qualifications

• Advanced CCTV Surveillance Body Language certification
