About the role

About the Company

Kairos Power is a new nuclear energy technology and engineering company whose mission is to enable the world’s transition to clean energy through the commercialization of fluoride-salt-cooled, high-temperature reactors (FHR).

Responsibilities

  • Operate and field check process equipment and monitor process conditions
  • Perform scheduled operational tasks and resolve unplanned events
  • Conduct effective shift relief and communication to arriving teams
  • Mentor and train new operations personnel on process and troubleshooting
  • Perform minor maintenance, repairs, and preventative maintenance
  • Execute system and component level commissioning and operating procedures
  • Perform chemistry sampling and analysis using standardized instruments
  • Execute Lockout-Tagout of mechanical and electrical equipment
  • Support startup, monitoring, and shutdown processes

Requirements

  • Associate degree in Process Technology or related program, or 2+ years of plant operator/technician experience
  • Ability to understand, follow, and create technical procedures
  • Willingness to work with hazardous materials in full PPE (SCBA, respirator, Tyvek)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to read P&ID and mechanical/electrical drawings
  • Experience with Instrumentation and Controls systems
  • Ability to work rotating shifts, including weekends and holidays

Preferred Qualifications

  • Background in mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, chemical, or power plant operations
  • Military or similar technical background
  • Hands-on experience with plant equipment and operations
