Operator I

Responsibilities

• Perform leak repairs, mains maintenance, fire hydrant management, and new service installations
• Read meters accurately and complete daily job safety inspection sheets
• Operate hand tools, power tools, and mechanical equipment for repairing mains, services, and valves
• Utilize PC tablets for field service applications and processing service orders
• Maintain and account for all assigned tools, equipment, and vehicles
• Assist in water service shutdowns, repairs, disinfection, and restoration
• Collaborate with the Operations Supervisor to report field customer service issues

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
• Experience in the water utility industry, plumbing, or similar mechanical field
• Valid Arizona driver's license with a clean driving record
• Basic computer skills, including Windows operations and experience with communication devices
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team
• Willingness to obtain ADEQ Grade 1 Water Distribution license

Preferred Qualifications

• Existing ADEQ Grade 1 Water Distribution license
