Operator Foreman

Responsibilities

• Direct daily plant operations to meet mass, energy, and yield targets
• Author and maintain SOPs, Work Instructions, and Site Safety Protocols
• Identify and rectify process bottlenecks using Root Cause Analysis
• Synthesize site performance data into high-level reports for management
• Lead recruiting, hiring, and onboarding for the plant operations team
• Supervise and mentor a multi-disciplinary team of operators and technicians
• Partner with engineering teams for commissioning, qualification, and validation activities

Requirements

• B.S. in Chemical Engineering, Biochemical Engineering, Operations Management, or related field
• Equivalent extensive hands-on plant management experience if lacking a degree
• 3+ years of experience in biochemical, bioethanol, food/beverage, or specialty chemical manufacturing
• Strong understanding of fermentation, aseptic processing, and downstream purification
• Deep understanding of industrial safety standards including OSHA, PSM, and HAZOP
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in an industrial plant environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with greenfield or brownfield startups
• Experience scaling processes from pilot to demonstration scale
• Familiarity with Heat Transfer, Fluid Dynamics, and Mass Transfer
