Operator Equipment Lead

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day yard operations, including safety, environmental standards, and maintenance
• Direct personnel and operations safely in the absence of the Manager
• Coordinate staffing with the Aggregates Manager during high-volume periods
• Promote a culture of safety and ensure employees submit Safety Improvement Card (SIC) opportunities
• Safely operate heavy equipment including front-end loaders, locomotives, trackmobiles, and Bobcats
• Perform railcar movement activities such as switching, making connections, and communicating with locomotive operators
• Execute regular preventative maintenance, including greasing and light repairs
• Maintain clean, orderly, and safe working areas and equipment

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED equivalent
• 3-5 years of experience in rail operations, maintenance, or an industrial setting
• Third-party rail operations certification
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and basic mathematical skills
• Fluency in English (written and verbal)

Preferred Qualifications

• Bilingual skills
• Experience with APEX and SAP software
