About the role
Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day yard operations, including safety, environmental standards, and maintenance
- Direct personnel and operations safely in the absence of the Manager
- Coordinate staffing with the Aggregates Manager during high-volume periods
- Promote a culture of safety and ensure employees submit Safety Improvement Card (SIC) opportunities
- Safely operate heavy equipment including front-end loaders, locomotives, trackmobiles, and Bobcats
- Perform railcar movement activities such as switching, making connections, and communicating with locomotive operators
- Execute regular preventative maintenance, including greasing and light repairs
- Maintain clean, orderly, and safe working areas and equipment
Requirements
- High School diploma or GED equivalent
- 3-5 years of experience in rail operations, maintenance, or an industrial setting
- Third-party rail operations certification
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and basic mathematical skills
- Fluency in English (written and verbal)
Preferred Qualifications
- Bilingual skills
- Experience with APEX and SAP software
