Operations/M&A Due Diligence Intern

About the Company

Buena is digitizing the real estate industry from the inside out. We acquire property management companies across Germany and transform them into modern technology companies, simplifying all real estate processes from search to management.

Responsibilities

• Manage data rooms, maintain Information Request Lists (IRLs), and track missing documentation.
• Support Financial Due Diligence by reviewing financials (P&L, revenue, units under management) and documenting red flags.
• Conduct Commercial & Ops Due Diligence by checking object lists, contract stocks, and ERP/process data.
• Perform IT Due Diligence by analyzing software stacks and IT costs.
• Prepare and document on-site visits and interviews with executives.
• Maintain DD reports, logbooks, and status updates for deal leads.
• Coordinate process support including NDA/LOI distribution and internal/external coordination.

Requirements

• Enrolled or graduated student in Business Administration, Economics, Law, Finance, Accounting, or Industrial Engineering.
• Ability to read and interpret financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheets, EBITDA, Working Capital).
• Advanced Excel skills (Pivot, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, data consolidation).
• German language proficiency at C1 or native level.
• Availability for a 3–6 month full-time internship.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience in M&A, Transaction Services, Corporate Finance, Investment Banking, Private Equity, or Audit.
• Direct exposure to Due Diligence processes or valuation logic.
• Experience in the real estate or Proptech industry.
• Experience with data analysis tools (SQL, Power BI) or CRM/ERP systems.
• Affinity for process automation and AI tools.
