Operations Work Team Leader

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage an assigned production department to achieve operational objectives in safety, quality, cost, and continuous improvement.
• Facilitate continuous improvement by using Kaizen tools to eliminate waste and solve problems proactively.
• Motivate and develop employees through coaching, teaching, and setting clear performance expectations.
• Ensure a safe working environment by implementing 5-S principles and adhering to all safety policies and legislation.
• Maintain high quality standards by monitoring compliance with ISO 9000 certification and driving toward zero defects.
• Manage staffing levels, employee selection, and training to ensure the team has the necessary skills to meet demand.
• Maintain a strong shop floor focus to understand current operations and gain direct input from team members.

Requirements

• Minimum of four years of successful supervisory experience in an operations environment or a proven leadership role.
• Proficiency in Lean Manufacturing principles and ISO quality systems fundamentals.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to express ideas effectively.
• Expertise in conflict resolution within a team environment.
• Demonstrated ability to make decisive, appropriate decisions based on identified issues.
• Proficiency in using office automation and communication software.
