About the role
Responsibilities
- Support all aspects of the metal coating process, focusing on performance and quality control
- Conduct preventative maintenance on platherization systems, pre-heat and cure ovens, and cool-down tunnels
- Inspect parts for quality criteria and determine necessary actions for non-conforming parts
- Interpret scheduling sheets and paperwork to manage conforming and non-conforming parts
- Perform tasks such as sanding, scraping, and reordering parts to address shortages
- Maintain work area housekeeping, including cleaning floors and arranging pallets
- Use paint measuring devices to ensure quality and coverage, recording data on process sheets
- Operate and maintain scanners and printers
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED, or equivalent work experience demonstrating competency
- Ability to lift and carry heavy parts, pallets, and returnable bins
- Strong color differentiation skills to check quality of shades using approved sample plates
- Ability to maintain a fast pace during line hanging and unloading
- Proficiency in using scanners and printers
