About the role
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate appropriate manufacturing equipment
- Make technical decisions and exercise discriminating judgment during production
- Perform 100% inspection of finished products to ensure quality standards
- Use air and electric hand tools such as grinders, drills, and files
- Measure parts to 1/32” using tape measures, calipers, and other shop devices
- Read and interpret dimensions and surfaces from design drawings
- Perform required preventative maintenance on machinery
- Maintain a clean and organized work area following 5S procedures
- Participate in continuous improvement teams and communicate quality issues
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED (or equivalent work experience)
- Experience in a metal fabrication environment operating machinery
- Ability to use hand tools and precision measurement devices
- Ability to read and interpret technical design drawings
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Ability to work effectively as part of a unified team under minimal supervision
