Operations Technician

Responsibilities

• Operate robotic cameras and provide studio floor directing
• Handle and move props, sets, and heavy equipment for in-house and remote productions
• Maintain studio appearance, including cleaning sets and floors
• Manage lighting grids and control boards, including changing bulbs and adjusting fixtures
• Dress microphones and IFBs for on-camera talent
• Perform technical control room roles including camera control, audio, and technical directing
• Execute non-linear editing for news and creative services productions
• Utilize multi-media computer skills to download materials for promos and commercials
• Support promotional efforts at station-sponsored community events

Requirements

• 2+ years of experience as an operations technician at a commercial television station
• Solid background in the operation of broadcast television systems and equipment
• Mandatory computer literacy and familiarity with current internet technology
• Ability to perform physical tasks such as climbing ladders and moving heavy equipment
• In-person attendance is required

Preferred Qualifications

• Related military experience in broadcast or technical operations
• Combination of specialized training and professional experience
