Operations Supervisor 2nd Shift

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on leadership to a team of 25+ employees, including mentoring, coaching, and managing employee relations.
• Lead and enhance safety performance on the second shift, promoting a proactive safety culture and ensuring compliance with all standards.
• Manage shift maintenance activities and resolve equipment breakdowns to ensure uninterrupted plant operations.
• Drive continuous improvement and Lean initiatives to enhance efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness.
• Monitor operational costs, yield, and plant performance in partnership with the Plant Manager.
• Supervise production and shipping schedules based on the availability of raw and finished goods.
• Ensure full compliance with all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and local, state, and federal regulations.

Requirements

• Prior experience in a plant supervisory role within an engineering or manufacturing environment.
• Strong people management capability, specifically with a non-exempt production workforce.
• Proven experience managing safety performance and implementing safety programs.
• Solid understanding of supply chain practices, metrics, and data analysis.
• Familiarity with Lean Thinking concepts and practices.
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and conflict management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Operations, Supply Chain, or an equivalent field.
• Lean or Six Sigma certification.
• Familiarity with private fleet management or transportation operations.
